UHV president issues statement on lockdown
“When we received confirmation that shots were fired Wednesday on the Victoria College campus, the University of Houston-Victoria took the necessary precautions to notify students, faculty and staff via text and email through our emergency management system,” UHV President Philip Castille said. “The UHV women’s soccer team was cleared off the campus field, and the university went on lockdown. When we were notified by Victoria College that a suspect was in custody and the lockdown had been lifted, we followed suit and notified our students and employees.”
The University of Houston-Victoria, located in the heart of the Coastal Bend region, offers courses leading to more than 65 bachelor’s and master’s degree
