ROCKPORT – The University of Houston-Victoria Small Business Development Center is teaming up with two area agencies to present a free workshop about small business financing options.

“SBA Financing Options for Your Small Business” will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. May 16 at the Rockport-Fulton Chamber of Commerce, 319 Broadway St.
Representatives from the SBDC, Rockport-Fulton Chamber and U.S. Small Business Administration Corpus Christi branch will be on hand to meet with startup or existing small businesses and explain SBA’s loan programs and eligibility. Workshop attendees can learn about SBA specialty and express loans, including the microloan program and the grants search tool.

The workshop will be led by Elizabeth Soliz, an SBA economic development specialist in the Lower Rio Grande Valley District. Soliz conducts marketing and outreach events to train, counsel and educate small businesses about the SBA.
“Ms. Soliz is dedicated to building and maintaining collaborative alliances and partnerships with local leaders to help small businesses start, grow and succeed,” SBDC Director Joe Humphreys said. “Many area companies could benefit from these loan programs and the free advice dished out at this event.”
