The University of Houston-Victoria will host a computer science and mathematics open house on Thursday, March 1, from 4 to 7 p.m. on the UHV campus, 3007 N. Ben Wilson, in Victoria.
The event—which will open with a SudokUHV Tournament—will showcase undergraduate and graduate degree programs available through the computer science and math department at UHV. All interested individuals are invited to attend.
“The open house will feature a game programming lecture, departmental lab tours, student and faculty demonstrations, and plenty of opportunity to discuss programs of study with professors,” said Dr. Meledath Damodaran, professor and coordinator of computer science and math in the School of Arts and Sciences at UHV.
Degree plan counselors will also be available to answer questions and provide information about bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in computer science and mathematics.
“Technological advancements in the computer industry and mathematics fields create a pipeline of endless career opportunities,” added UHV President Dr. Tim Hudson. “We welcome Victoria and surrounding communities to join us on campus to explore the possibilities.”
The open house is free of charge to participants and refreshments will be served. The winner of the Sudoku tournament will be awarded a certificate from Best Buy as the grand prize.
