UHV faculty, alumna present at regional education conferences
|Barba Patton, right, a UHV associate professor of education, and Brittainny Harwell, a UHV alumna who graduated in May, recently presented at the Conference for the Advancement of Mathematics Teaching in San Antonio. Their workshop, “Motivation Multiplication,” was attended by more than 150 educators. Patton also attended a conference at the same location that was organized by the Association of the Mathematics Teacher Educators of Texas. She gave two presentations – a historical timeline of math problems titled “A Walk in Time” co-authored by Lymeda Singleton, an instructor at Texas A&M University-Commerce, and “Preparing Teacher Candidates for the Classroom: State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness Test.” Patton attended the association’s business sessions and serves on its executive board as the editor of the newsletter.|
