UHV students awarded scholarships for admission test preparation courses

The scholarships were awarded by the university’s Pre-Health Student Association and sponsored by Kaplan and Princeton Review. Lee, a post-baccalaureate student from Port Lavaca, who graduated in May 2014 with a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas in Austin, is preparing to take the Dental Admission Test. Sanchez, a senior biology major from Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, will take the Medical College Admission Test. Standing from left are Dmitri Sobolev, assistant professor of biology; Maria Velez-Hernandez, assistant professor of biology; Lee; Jeffrey Di Leo, dean of the UHV School of Arts & Sciences; Sanchez; Jesica McCue, biology lecturer; and Hashimul Ehsan, biology lecturer. Velez-Hernandez and McCue are co-advisors of the student organization.
