Small business owners who want to learn more about loan programs and alternative financing methods can attend a free workshop Aug. 25 at the University of Houston-Victoria.
The UHV Small Business Development Center will present SBA Alternative Financing for Small Business from 1:30 to 3 p.m. in UHV University North Room 110A, 3007 N. Ben Wilson St.
Annie Hudspeth, lender relations specialist for the U.S. Small Business Administration’s San Antonio District Office, and Laura Estrada, LiftFund market manager for the Corpus Christi area, will lead the workshop.
Hudspeth and her SBA colleagues work with a variety of traditional, alternative and microlenders in the area. They help small businesses finance their innovative ideas. Estrada is a small business financing professional specializing in microfinance. LiftFund assists by providing technical business training and loans ranging from $500 to $250,000.
“Small business leaders may be familiar with the traditional way of financing, but not every venture is a good fit,” UHV SBDC Director Joe Humphreys said. “That’s why it’s worth the time to learn about other ways to approach financing. The more options business owners know about, the easier it will be to make a decision that is the most beneficial to the company.”
The workshop will be interactive and include a question-and-answer session. Business owners and managers will leave armed with the knowledge, tools and support to get their businesses financed, Humphreys said.
To register for the free seminar, call the UHV SBDC at 361-485-4485, email email@example.com or visit www.uhv.edu/small-business.
