Accreditation and affordability consistently help earn the University of Houston-Victoria School of Business Administration’s graduate programs top national rankings.
Now, the school’s Master of Business Administration programs have been acknowledged by GetEducated.com and TopManagementDegrees.com. The websites recently evaluated business schools across the nation for accreditation and compared in-state tuition prices.
“Accreditation and affordability are two of the major factors that make the UHV School of Business Administration excellent,” said Farhang Niroomand, dean of the school. “These rankings confirm that our students will receive an exemplary education for an affordable price.”
GetEducated.com’s 2016 Best Affordable AACSB Online MBA Programs list ranked the UHV School of Business Administration’s MBA programs eighth in the nation for affordability. The website only considered schools accredited by AACSB International – The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, which accredits less than 5 percent of business schools worldwide. Of the 111 schools considered by the website, UHV was the top-ranked university in Texas.
TopManagementDegrees.com’s Top 50 Most Affordable Online MBA Programs 2017 list considered schools accredited by the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education, the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs or AACSB International. The site began with a list of 350 schools and narrowed it to the top 50 based on accreditation and tuition cost. UHV was ranked 17th on that list.
“Accreditation from AACSB International is an impressive standard for any business school,” said Stephanie Solansky, a UHV associate professor of management and chair of the School of Business Administration Management & Marketing Department. “Combining that accreditation with recognition for offering an affordable education is something the School of Business Administration is proud of.”
Accreditation and affordability are major recruiting tools for the university, Solansky said. Many students look for schools that have a certain accreditation as well as affordable tuition along with factors such as convenience and accessibility.
In addition to affordability, offering an accessible education has been one of UHV’s major goals for years. Students have the opportunity to attend classes online or face to face. This caters to the needs of full-time students and working professionals returning to school to earn an MBA.
