UHV First: Fall Commencement to be Held on Campus

On Saturday, December 10, the University of Houston-Victoria will recognize 415 students who have completed their degrees in the summer or fall of 2005 at the first commencement ceremony to be held on the UHV campus. The commencement exercises will begin at 2 p.m. in front of the University Center building.

Dr. Sandy Venneman, UHV associate professor of psychology and biology, will serve as grand marshal, and Dr. Jimmy Goodson, president of The Victoria College, will deliver the commencement address. The school deans will then bestow diplomas to the graduates and UH System Regent Morgan Dunn O’Connor will confer the degrees.

“It is always a privilege to be able to recognize our graduates’ accomplishments,” said UHV President Tim Hudson. “We are very pleased this year to be doing so on campus, where they have invested so much of their time and hard work to earn their degrees.”

Following the ceremony, a reception for graduates and their guests will be held in the UHV Multipurpose Room. For more information, contact Nancy Welch, UHV special events coordinator, at (361) 570-4351.
