Four Jaguars receive all-region softball honors

The amazing first season continues for the UHV Jaguars softball team as 4 Jaguars have been named to all-region teams.

Pitcher Lauren Garza and designated player Kristen Lindley were named to the all-region First team. Shortstop Stephanie Lavey and outfielder Cirby Ryan were named to the Second Team.

"I'm very proud of these young ladies," said head coach Keri Lambeth, "We are in a very competitive region with the 2007 National Champions Oklahoma City University, the 2008 National Champions Lubbock Christian University, #6 in the nation St. Gregory's University, and #20 in the nation Rogers State. This honor puts them in the category with the top players in the country."

Lindley is ranked 5th in the country in RBIs per game and Garza's 18 wins rank her 28th in the nation.

"This clearly speaks volumes about their ability as players and to Keri's ability as a coach," said UHV athletic director Ashley Walyuchow. "I can't imagine, over time that too many first year programs place 4 players on all-region teams in their first season. I'm very proud of these 4 players and the entire team for what was accomplished this year..."

The Jaguars finished the season ranked 15th in the NAIA and 4th in Region VI with a record of 32 wins and 18 losses.
