UHV ranked third-largest MBA program in Houston

The University of Houston-Victoria School of Business Administration continues to rank among the top choices for students wishing to pursue a Master of Business Administration.

The Houston Business Journal has listed UHV as the third-largest Houston-area MBA program based on enrollment for the second year in a row.

The UHV School of Business Administration had 551 MBA students enrolled in fall 2017. Many of those students were able to enjoy the convenience of multiple locations. Students who live in the Houston area can take classes at UHV Katy. Classes also are offered at UHV’s main campus in Victoria and online.

“We have plenty of students who are employed full time, so that is why we offer options to choose online or face-to-face courses.” said Jifu Wang, UHV School of Business Administration associate dean and MBA program director. “With UHV’s flexibility, students are able to determine a schedule that is best for them and excel in the courses at their pace.”

The programs were ranked by total local MBA program enrollment.

“UHV’s faculty challenges our MBA students to reach beyond knowledge acquired as an undergraduate and apply their skills to see real results,” said James Jordan-Wagner, interim dean of the UHV School of Business Administration. “That is why UHV’s MBA program provides a quality education to the students.”

UHV offers a Global MBA and a Strategic MBA. The global degree provides students with an international perspective while the strategic degree emphasizes a cross-disciplinary approach to tackling complex business problems.

“Our program aims to develop not only domestic leaders but global leaders with a broad mindset,” Wang said. “We want our students to get that promotion, or land that job, and be able to thrive in their line of work. At UHV, we care about our students’ futures.”

The University of Houston-Victoria, located in the heart of the Coastal Bend region, offers courses leading to more than 65 bachelor’s and master’s degree programs and concentrations in the schools of Arts & Sciences, Business Administration, Education & Human Development, and Nursing. UHV provides face-to-face classes at its Victoria campus as well as teaching sites in Fort Bend and Harris counties, and online classes that students can take from anywhere. Since its founding in 1973, UHV has provided students with a quality university education from excellent faculty at an affordable price.
