Leadercast, a worldwide leadership conference in its 18th year, is a full-day live simulcast from Atlanta. This is the seventh year the UHV Small Business Development Center and the School of Business Administration have hosted Leadercast Victoria, which will run from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Victoria Emerging Technology Center, 7403 Lone Tree Road.

The theme for this year’s conference is “Lead Yourself.” Attendees will watch presentations by nationally known authors, business founders and leaders, celebrities and experts.

“To develop leaders others will follow, you must learn to lead yourself first,” UHV SBDC Director Joe Humphreys said. “We must practice this ourselves before we teach others how to be great leaders, and we’ll learn practical ways to do that at Leadercast.”

Tripp Crosby, a comedian and director, will host the broadcast. The speakers are:

  • Andy Stanley, author and communicator
  • Ian Cron, author, psychotherapist, teacher and speaker
  • Mae Jemison, astronaut, engineer and physician
  • Jim Loehr, author and psychologist
  • Kat Cole, COO and president of North America FOCUS Brands
  • Jen Bricker, acrobat, aerialist, author and speaker
  • Michael Hyatt, author, speaker and CEO of Michael Hyatt and Co.
  • Carey Lohrenz, pilot, speaker and trainer
  • Joe Torre, baseball manager

During lunch, attendees will listen to a presentation by Bill Wendlandt, founder and president of Office Leasing Advisors Inc., a commercial real estate company that has negotiated leases with Facebook, ESPN and Google. Wendlandt also owns more than 300,000 square feet of office buildings in Victoria and is the largest provider of free and subsidized space for Victoria nonprofits. Wendlandt will share insights about leadership methods he learned through lessons and past experiences that brought him to where he is today.

“I’m excited to visit with other leaders, and I hope to provide them beneficial practices I learned throughout my career,” Wendlandt said. “I was fortunate enough to coach two Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks, Drew Brees and Nick Folds, during their high school years, and in that experience, I learned important leadership skills that I look forward to sharing with the audience at Leadercast.”

Wendlandt’s presentation will be an empowering message for audience members, Humphreys said.

“Bill is a successful businessman who has a proven track-record of making the right leadership decisions to grow his company while helping enrich the lives of others,” Humphreys said. “We look forward to hearing from him and the other speakers at Leadercast.”
