“It just seems like I’ll have better opportunities at the University of Houston-Victoria because of the smaller classes,” said Huston, a senior at Karen Wagner High School in San Antonio.
Huston plans on attending UHV in the fall as one of the university’s FIRST 200. She wants to get a business degree so that she eventually can open a restaurant or other small business.
In high school, Huston was a member of Junior ROTC for four years and was secretary of her junior class and treasurer of her senior class. For the past two years, she has participated in a college preparatory program at her high school and has been in the San Antonio Police Department Police Explorers program.
“I’m excited to see UHV’s new dorms,” she said.
