UHV Sponsors Alumnus in Teacher Internship Program


This summer, the University of Houston-Victoria sponsored area teacher Patrick Hubble to participate in the Texas Workforce Solutions’ Teacher Internship Program. Hubble, who teaches Spanish at Memorial High School’s Stroman campus, spent several days job shadowing the workers at Victoria Electric Co-Op. The program is designed to give teachers firsthand experience in local workplaces, so they can relate the skills taught in their classrooms to the skills needed on the job.

Hubble graduated from UHV in 1991 with a master’s degree in interdisciplinary studies. UHV donated $500 to sponsor his participation in the program. For more information on the Texas Workforce Solutions’ Teacher Internship Program, contact Linda Salazar-Ybarbo at (361) 578-0341.
