Bob Glenn

Free Ticket Night at the Victoria Generals presented by UHV will feature a game between the Generals and the Acadiana Cane Cutters. The first pitch will be at 7:05 p.m. at Riverside Stadium inside Riverside Park. Admission is free with an advanced ticket. A limited number of free tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

“We’re excited to host a fun night out at the ballpark,” UHV President Bob Glenn said. “We’ve received so much support from the community. A free baseball game is a way to enjoy that comradery and say ‘thank you.’”

Fans will receive UHV giveaways at the gate. They also can take part in games and contests between innings throughout the evening. UHV’s jaguar mascot, jaX, will be in attendance to greet the crowd.

The Victoria Generals play in the Texas Collegiate League, a collegiate summer wooden bat league consisting of five teams from Texas and Louisiana. The Cane Cutters are based out of Youngsville, La. Returning for a second season this summer, UHV outfielder Luis Vargas is playing for the Generals.

The Generals also have players from Division 1 college teams such as the University of Oklahoma, University of Houston, University of Texas at San Antonio, Sam Houston State University, University of the Incarnate Word, University of Central Arkansas and Texas State University.
