Jaguars Baseball to Scrimmage Wharton County Junior College Sunday Afternoon

The University of Houston-Victoria Jaguars baseball team will play its first scrimmage Sunday October 14th against the Wharton County Junior College Pioneers. The scrimmage will begin at 1:00 pm and will be played at Tiger Stadium in Wharton.

“This will be a long anticipated first test for the team,” said head baseball coach Terry Puhl. “After the rainout in September, these guys are hungry for game like situations.”

This will be the first of 3 scrimmages in the next 8 days for the Jaguars. The Jaguars will scrimmage at Texas A and M Kingsville on October 18. The final scrimmage for the Jaguars this fall will take place October 22 when Alvin Community College visits Riverside Stadium.

“The original scrimmage against WCJC will not be rescheduled this year,” said UHV athletic director Ashley Walyuchow. “Between our schedule and their''s it just couldn''t be accommodated this fall.”
