International students take part in UHV’s first sash ceremony

University of Houston-Victoria international students take a group photo Friday after receiving sashes representing their countries of citizenship. The students also wore the sashes at Saturday’s commencement ceremonies. UHV’s first International Sash Ceremony included remarks from UHV leaders; a speech by Fasihuddin Mirza, a graduate student from India; and the formal presentation of sashes. The University of Houston-Victoria, located in the heart of the Coastal Bend region since 1973 in Victoria, Texas, offers courses leading to more than 80 academic programs in the schools of Arts & Sciences; Business Administration; and Education, Health Professions & Human Development.
