UHV LEAD to Host FAFSA workshop

The University of Houston-Victoria Letting Education Achieve Dreams initiative, in collaboration with Wachovia Education Finance, will host a workshop to assist high school seniors and their parents in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form online. The event will be held on Tuesday, February 21, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room.

The event is free of charge to participants, and they are asked to arrive promptly for a barbecue dinner and registration. Pizza will be served for younger students in attendance, and child care will also be available for them.

Two $500 scholarships will be awarded by Wachovia Education Finance at the event, as well as two $500 scholarships offered to first-generation college students. Participants must be present to be eligible to win.

Other collaborators for the workshop include the UHV Financial Aid Department, G-Force, the Victoria College Educational Opportunity Center, Victoria Independent School District, and the Latina Forum.
