UHV supply chain management program receives ranking

The University of Houston-Victoria’s undergraduate business concentration in supply chain management recently was listed among the top 25 online programs in the nation by the website GuidetoOnlineSchools.com based on its affordability and the median salary of graduates.

The UHV School of Business Administration’s Bachelor of Business Administration in general business with a supply chain management concentration was ranked 11th on the website’s Best Online Colleges for a Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management 2019 list.

Charles Stowe

“The UHV School of Business Administration is grateful to receive this acknowledgement of its supply chain management concentration,” said Charles Stowe, dean of the school. “This is a clear indication that UHV is offering excellent programs to our students so they can achieve future success.”

When researching institutions for its ranking list, the website considered regionally accredited schools that offered online programs. The website also included tuition and used PayScale, a national website that tracks salary information, to determine the median salary for graduates of the program. The median salary of UHV’s graduates was listed as $77,200 compared with the national average of $81,279.

In addition to UHV’s accreditation through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, the UHV School of Business Administration is accredited through AACSB International – The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, which accredits less than 5 percent of business schools worldwide.

Jie Yang

“In the era of globalization, supply chain management graduates are in high demand in today’s workplace,” said Jie Yang, UHV professor of operations management. “UHV’s program stands out not only for excellence in the classroom, but also for affordability and flexibility. Students have the option to take classes online or in the evening, which works well for many of our nontraditional students who must work while earning their degrees.”

Rankings such as this are evidence that UHV’s efforts to offer excellent programs and constantly improve them are achieving results, Yang said.
