The board held its first meeting on Wednesday, March 1. Board members are Michael Poynor, Yoakum ISD superintendent; Dr. Wayne Taylor, Wharton County Junior College dean of student services; Larry Nichols, Calhoun ISD superintendent; Henry Lind, Cuero ISD superintendent; and Carolyn Gordon, El Campo ISD superintendent, Dr. Margaret Rice, UHV executive director of student services and regional outreach; Dr. Claudia Iselt, Victoria ISD interim superintendent; Rachel Trevino-Garcia, UHV director of student development; Tracey Gleghorn, Austwell-Tivoli High School principal; and Tracey Moore-Sweeney, UHV grants facilitator.

The University of Houston-Victoria, located in the heart of the Coastal Bend region since 1973 in Victoria, Texas, offers courses leading to more than 80 academic programs in the schools of Arts & Sciences; Business Administration; and Education, Health Professions & Human Development.
