UHV Alumna Wins Top Award in Marketing

The Houston chapter of the American Marketing Association recently recognized Hollinden, a firm founded by University of Houston-Victoria alumna Christine Hollinden, with its prestigious Crystal Award. Given annually in recognition of innovative, effective marketing campaigns, the award is considered one of the highest honors for marketing professionals.

Hollinden received the award for its efforts on behalf of the Aggie 100, recognized by the AMA as the Best Integrated Public Relations – Nonprofit Campaign for 2005. Holliden’s efforts on this campaign are credited with achieving optimal recognition and attendance for the event. The firm is already at work on the 2006 Aggie 100 campaign.

Hollinden graduated from UHV in 1985 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. She went on to earn an MBA two years later from Texas A&M. Currently, in addition to directing the Hollinden firm, she teaches as an adjunct professor at the University of St. Thomas and sits on the executive committee of the Center for New Ventures and Entrepreneurship.

“We’re very proud of Christine Hollinden,” said Charles Bullock, dean of UHV’s School of Business Administration. “She’s a terrific example of a person who has combined a good business education with personal drive, and look what she’s accomplished.”

Last year, the UHV School of Business Administration graduated more than 175 students. For more information about degree opportunities in the School of Business Administration at UHV, contact Jane Mims at (361) 570-4892. For more information on Hollinden’s firm, visit www.hollinden.com.
