Jaguar Hall Dining meal plans extended to UHV, VC employees

Jaguar Hall Dining facility is once again offering meal plans for University of Houston-Victoria faculty and staff, and for the first time, meal plans are available to Victoria College employees.

Dawn Rose, Jaguar Hall food services director and executive chef, said the plans give UHV and Victoria College employees the option to have an all-they-can-eat breakfast, lunch or dinner near the campuses at the residence hall, 2705 Houston Highway.

“This is a convenient way for UHV and Victoria College employees to try our services since we are close by,” Rose said. “They can stop by and try our award-winning food services and learn about our other offerings.”

The plans for five, 10 or 15 meals will save employees money. UHV and VC personnel who do not wish to purchase a meal plan also can walk into Jaguar Hall Dining and pay for a single meal. Prices, plus sales tax, are: breakfast, $6; lunch, $7; and dinner, $8.

Rose recently was recognized by Aramark Food Services at a regional conference. UHV contracts with Aramark for its food services at Jaguar Hall. During the 2010-2011 school year, she began new services and events for students, staff and faculty. She was praised for offering an inventive, economical menu, the Jaguar Hall Dining website and contests to win free meals.

On the third Friday of each month this school year, Jaguar Hall will host $5 Friday, so UHV and Victoria College employees may try breakfast, lunch or dinner at a discounted price.

The dining facility also will offer special menu days. The first will be a “Mexican Fiesta” during lunch and dinner on Sept. 15 to commemorate the Mexican holiday “Diez y Seis de Septiembre.”

With the addition of an outdoor grill to its kitchen tools, Jaguar Hall Dining will host cookouts on the patio each Friday night.

Another initiative offered by Jaguar Hall is catering services for meetings on or off campus. Menu options for gatherings of 10 to 100 are available, including continental or hot breakfasts, coffee breaks, plate or buffet-style lunches and hors d’oeuvres. Downloadable menu options are available at the Jaguar Hall Dining website, www.uhv.campusdish.com.

Jaguar Hall Dining also offers occasional promotions via its Facebook page at “UH-Victoria Dining Services.”

Beginning Sept. 6, UHV employees will receive a weekly email which includes the week’s menu. Employees may respond to the email with “I want a lot for a little” in the subject line and be entered into a weekly drawing for a free meal.
