Deadline Extended for Nominations for Distinguished Faculty Service Award

The deadline for nominating University of Houston-Victoria professors for the 2006 Distinguished Faculty Service Award has been extended to Friday, February 24. UHV faculty, staff and students, as well as Victoria community members, are invited to participate. This recognition is given to honor significant, positive contributions made to the community by faculty members representing the university.

This is the first year for the award, which will be given annually. Eligible faculty members will have worked at UHV for at least three years, during which time they will have demonstrated a commitment to service activities. These may include making public appearances; consulting with business, government, and education organizations; serving on committees; and participating in student recruitment and job placement.

Nominations should be sent in a confidential envelope to the Faculty Service Award Committee via the Office of the Provost. For more information, contact committee chair Dr. Barba Patton at (361) 570-4271.
