UHV Workshops to Link Laughter and Leadership

The Office of Professional Development at the University of Houston-Victoria will present the second and third installments of its “Leading Edge Series” with two sessions featuring corporate trainer and executive coach Ann Fry on Monday, May 1, at Citizens HealthPlex, Rooms D and E.

The first session, “Laughing Matters: The Value of Humor at Work,” will run from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. During this seminar, participants will learn how to change the culture of their workplace to reflect a spirit of enthusiasm and high morale. The second session will last from 1-4 p.m. In “Coaching Your Managers to Be Their Best,” Fry will use humor to show participants how to use coaching to improve managers’ leadership skills.

Fry holds a master’s degree in social work and a professional certified coach designation from the International Coach Federation. She travels the country to deliver programs that help people manage their stress, build their people skills, balance their lives, and have a healthy sense of humor. She is the author of Laughing Matters: The Value of Humor in the Workplace and co-author of 139 Ways to Lighten Up the Workplace.

Initiated this year, the Leading Edge Series is designed for anyone who is interested in developing their leadership skills and increasing workplace productivity.

The cost of each session with Fry is $49. Seating is limited, so those interested are encouraged to register by April 26. To register or for more information, contact the UHV Office of Professional Development at (361) 570-4361 or toll-free at (866) 800-8762.
