Jags named male and female athletes of the week

April 20, 2010 – The University of Houston Victoria's Casey Newman and Tasha Rotramel are the Association of Independent Institutions Male and Female Athletes of the Week for the week ending April 19, 2010.

Casey Newman, a 6'2 senior from Bloomington, Texas, pitched a four-hit shutout this past week against Huston-Tillotson to lift Houston-Victoria to their 25th win of the season. In six innings of work, Newman struck out six opposing batters, while allowing only two walks. Newman is now 4-1 on the year.

Tasha Rotramel, a 5'1 senior pitcher from Lake Jackson, Texas, pitched her fourth career no-hitter and second no-hitter of the season this past week, striking out nine opposing hitters in a 10-0 win over Texas College.
