UHV VP Elected TASSCUBO President
Wayne Beran, vice president for administration and finance at the University of Houston-Victoria, was named president-elect of the Texas Association of State Senior College and University Business Officers. Following TASSCUBO’s succession plan, Beran will become president of the organization in 2008. He is the first person from a University of Houston System institution to be elected to this position since TASSCUBO was founded in 1968.
TASSCUBO is a member organization committed to promoting the professional success of Texas college and university business officers. The group meets annually to disseminate information, exchange ideas, and promote professional development, networking and advocacy.
As president-elect and later president of TASSCUBO, Beran will share responsibility for generating programs and activities, assessing policies and setting short-range priorities and long-range goals. The next major meeting of TASSCUBO will be held January 28-30, 2007, in Austin.
The University of Houston-Victoria, located in the heart of the Coastal Bend region since 1973 in Victoria, Texas, offers courses leading to more than 80 academic programs in the schools of Arts & Sciences; Business Administration; and Education, Health Professions & Human Development. UHV provides face-to-face classes at its Victoria campus, as well as an instructional site in Katy, Texas, and online classes that students can take from anywhere.
