Of over 200 graduates at the recent University of Houston-Victoria fall commencement, six were recognized as the outstanding students of their class. Before the ceremony, each was presented with a certificate by UHV President Tim Hudson, who congratulated them on their hard work and accomplishment.

The School of Education and Human Development chose Brandy Farah Garcia of Victoria as its outstanding undergraduate student. Garcia earned a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies. The school selected Deborah Marie Seiferman of Pflugerville to receive honors as the outstanding graduate student. Seiferman received a master’s degree in special education.

The outstanding undergraduate student award for the School of Business Administration went to Kimberly Diane Knapp of Mesquite, who earned a bachelor’s degree in management. Vicki K. Le of Sugar Land was recognized as the outstanding graduate student for her work earning a master’s degree in business administration.

In the School of Arts and Sciences, Matthew Thomas Hindmarch of Houston earned recognition for his work towards a bachelor of science degree in biology and was given the award for the outstanding undergraduate student. Siem Chan Su of Rosenburg, who completed a master’s degree in interdisciplinary studies, was recognized as the outstanding graduate student.

“These students represent the best and brightest at UHV, and it is my distinct honor to recognize them for their hard work and commitment to their academic endeavors,” said Hudson.
