Cast Your Vote for the Black History Month Poster Contest People’s Choice Award

Members of the University of Houston-Victoria community and the general public are invited to cast their vote February 1-7 for the People’s Choice Award as part of the Black History Month Poster Contest. Posters will be on display on all three floors of the University Center building during this time, and votes for the award may be cast at the kiosk on the first floor.

The poster contest is open to all Victoria County fifth-grade students in public, private and home schools. Each school will select 10 posters as contest finalists.

The winner of the People’s Choice Award will receive recognition and a collection of prizes at the Black History Month Heritage Festival on Saturday, February 10, at the Victoria Community Center. The public is invited to attend the free event that will also include food and entertainment.

The annual poster contest is sponsored by UHV, The Victoria College, and the Black History Month Steering Committee. For more information, contact Nancy Welch at (361) 570-4351.
