Less than 30 tickets remain for the Victoria simulcast of a worldwide leadership conference.  

The University of Houston-Victoria Small Business Development Center is hosting the Chick-fil-A Leadercast from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. May 10 at Parkway Church, 4802 N. John Stockbauer Drive.

Crossroads business owners, managers and staff members can learn from world-renowned leaders during the 14th annual Leadercast. The one-day leadership development event is broadcast live from Atlanta to hundreds of sites.  

“It is one of the single most consolidated sources of leadership,” said SBDC Director Joe Humphreys. “But it goes beyond that. I think this conference – although very focused on leadership – transcends the topic and really shows you how to lead in life.”

More than 145 tickets are sold for the Victoria simulcast.  

“We are excited about the demand for the Leadercast,” Humphreys said. “We have increased the number of available tickets twice. We are not going to have any more tickets after this batch is gone.”  

The program this year focuses on simply leading. Leading in a complex world requires simplicity to cut through the clutter. The group of speakers will share their insights into how simplifying allows leaders to thrive.  

Some of this year’s speakers are:

• Jack Welch, former chairman and CEO of General Electric
• Mike Krzyzewski, men’s basketball coach at Duke University
• John Maxwell, author of “The 5 Levels of Leadership” and many other leadership books Condolezza Rice, former U.S. Secretary of State
• Andy Stanley, author of “Next Generation Leader: 5 Essentials for Those Who Will Shape the Future” and many other books
• Sanya Richards-Ross, 2012 Olympic gold medalist in track and field

“There are not many places you can go and find this quality of speakers all in one place,” she said. “Leadercast brings in people nationally recognized for their abilities to help organizations improve.”  

Registration will be from 7 to 8 a.m. The event includes a free lunch at 11:15 a.m.  

General admission tickets are $99.99 and can be purchased online at www.chick-fil-aleadercast.com/location/victoria. If any tickets are left, they will be sold for $125 on the day of the event.  

Smith said several groups have signed up to attend. Discounted group tickets are $74.99 a ticket for 10 or more group members or $80.99 a ticket for five to nine members.  

“Some businesses are bringing their entire management team because they see a big value in this event,” Smith said.  

Participants of the Leadercast can earn more than five hours of continuing education credits. Human resource, nursing and general credits are available.
