Scholastic Book Fair comes to UHV

The University of Houston-Victoria will host a Scholastic Book Fair on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday selling children’s books for as little as $3 in Room 206 of the University West building, 3007 N. Ben Wilson.

The fair will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, and 8 a.m. to noon on Friday.

The event is sponsored by the Education Student Association, and all proceeds will benefit the group.

“We set this up so our student teachers can start purchasing their reading books for their classrooms, but the public is welcome to come and shop,” said Dennis Riedesel, associate professor of education.

Along with children’s books, the fair also will include some books for middle school students and a few adult-aged titles distributed by the Scholastic Book Co., he said.
