UHV to host second annual Leadercast Women conference
After a successful launch in 2017, the University of Houston-Victoria Small Business Development Center will present its second annual Leadercast Women to motivate and enlighten attendees.
Leadercast Women, a live, worldwide leadership conference, will be broadcast from Atlanta on Oct. 12. The conference will feature nine speakers from all walks of life who will share how they hone their leadership skills and styles. The Victoria simulcast will be from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Victoria College Emerging Technology Center, 7403 Lone Tree Road.
The conference theme is “Lead Yourself.” Top female leaders who have made significant achievements in businesses and communities will share their stories and insights to help attendees grow as leaders. The goal is to encourage attendees and provide them with tools they can use at their workplace. While geared toward women, the conference is open to everyone.
“Women can bring important viewpoints and insights to a leadership role,” SBDC Director Joe Humphreys said. “They are critical to helping companies with problem solving, strategizing and team building. Leadercast Women will encourage women to step up and seek leadership opportunities.”
The speakers are:
- Barbara Bush, cofounder and board chair of Global Health Corps
- Celeste Headlee, journalist, professional speaker and author
