UHV offices to close Wednesday to honor former President Bush
The University of Houston-Victoria will close Wednesday to honor the passing of former President George H.W. Bush.
Governor Greg Abbott issued an executive order designating Wednesday as an official Day of Mourning to honor former President George H.W. Bush, who passed away Friday. Therefore state agencies, including UHV, will be closed Wednesday. Only essential staff members are expected to report to work. Essential staff will be allowed another day off for observance within the week.
The university is encouraging all faculty, staff and students to take the opportunity to gather, assemble and pay their respect to the memory of our nation’s 41st president. The university will resume normal operations Thursday.
The University of Houston-Victoria, located in the heart of the Coastal Bend region since 1973 in Victoria, Texas, offers courses leading to more than 80 academic programs in the schools of Arts & Sciences; Business Administration; and Education, Health Professions & Human Development.
