Black History Steering Committee seeks participants for parade and festival
The Victoria Black History Steering Committee is seeking participants for upcoming events commemorating Black History Month.
The group is accepting entries for the 20th annual Black History Month Parade, scheduled for 10 a.m. Feb.14. The parade will begin at Patti Welder Magnet Middle School, 1500 E. North St., and end at the Victoria Community Center, 2905 E. North St.
The Black History Month Festival will immediately follow until 4 p.m. in the Victoria Community Center.The committee is inviting entertainers of all kinds to participate in the event. This includes musicians, singers, drill teams, praise teams, poetry readers, comedians and dramatists. Displays also are welcome. All participants must be approved by the committee.
