New freshman dreams of becoming police officer

Andy Llanes

For Andy Llanes, a senior at Lamar Consolidated High School in Rosenberg, there is only one career choice.

"I''m really into criminal justice," he said. "I want to be a police officer because there''s always something different every day."

Llanes decided to join the University of Houston-Victoria’s FIRST 200 as a way of starting a new chapter in his life off right.

"Since I''m just graduating from high school, it’s a new life for me."

The University of Houston-Victoria, located in the heart of the Coastal Bend region since 1973 in Victoria, Texas, offers courses leading to more than 80 academic programs in the schools of Arts & Sciences; Business Administration; and Education, Health Professions & Human Development.
