Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas presents check to UHV for health initiative
Representatives from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas stand with UHV administrators to award $100,000 to the Victoria Alliance Against Chronic Kidney Disease, an initiative led by two UHV faculty members. The $100,000 grant, from BCBSTX to the University of Houston Foundation earlier this year, is funding a yearlong, community-based program at UHV. The Victoria Alliance Against Chronic Kidney Disease focuses on ways to reduce chronic kidney disease in at-risk populations. The $100,000 grant is funded through Healthy Kids, Healthy Families® – BCBSTX’s signature community investments program.
