UHV LEAD and OneStar Foundation Host Mentoring Workshop

On Tuesday, August 29, the University of Houston-Victoria Letting Education Achieve Dreams initiative will host a training workshop titled “How to Build a Successful Mentoring Program Using the Elements of Effective Practice.” The free program will last from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the UHV Multi-Purpose Room. Lunch will be provided.

At the workshop Brenda King, training and resource administrator for the OneStar Foundation’s Governor’s Mentoring Initiative, will share effective strategies for promoting interest and participation in mentoring programs. Mentoring coordinators, task force members and community members with an interest in mentoring are encouraged to attend.

The program is funded from a service grant through the OneStar Foundation, an organization that works on behalf of the state of Texas to assist communities in addressing their most pressing needs.
